Join other local wine lovers at this summer's Noe Valley Wine Walk. This evening event is on Thursday, August 21 from 4pm to 8pm. For four hours, you can sample wines, savor finger foods, and enjoy other special treats along 24th Street from Diamond to Chattanooga. Tickets are $25 per person and you can buy them in person at the parking lot at 3865 24th Street (between Sanchez and Vicksburg).

Every Thursday night, the California Academy of Sciences offers those over 21 the chance to visit this museum at night. Every Thursday, they select a different theme so you can learn more about topics such as "How Earthquake Occur" or "The Science Behind Fireworks". From 6pm to 10pm, you can walk through the museum, enjoy a few cocktails and learn more about that night's specific topic. It's a great way to see the museum in a different light.
Since these events are very popular, I recommend buying your tickets in advance. This allows you to walk right in instead of waiting in line to buy your ticket once you arrive!

Three times a week the SF public library offers a free walking tour of the dynamic Chinatown district. They are on Monday at 10am, Monday at 1:30pm and Saturday at 10am. This two and a half hour tour takes you through the back alleys and the history of this mysterious district. No reservations required. Simply show up a few minutes before the start time inside Portsmouth Square Park near the parking garage elevators.

In August, SF Sunday Streets is on Sunday the 24th in the Mission District. During this event, several streets close to cars so that outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy some time walking, running and biking. The event also includes other activities such as live music, free health screenings and more.
