This March, you will find plenty of reasons to celebrate with two large holidays: Saint Patrick's Day and Easter. This month you can also enjoy the annual Ocean Film Festival, SF Giants Exhibition Games, and the International Chocolate Salon.

You will also find several cultural events, including theater, ballet, and the symphony. SF Theater: Dirty Dancing & Wicked

Dirty Dancing

Step back in time with one of this month's top theater performances, Dirty Dancing. This classic story follows the story of two young lovers at a vacation resort in the Catskill Mountains in 1963. It includes several hit songs including "Hungry Eyes," Hey Baby," and "(I've Had) The Time of My Life."

International Chocolate Salon

Calling all chocolate lovers! This year's International Chocolate Salon is on Saturday, March 5. It's a full day of chocolate tasting, chocolate demonstrations, chef talks, beer & wine tasting, and more. All activities are at the Fort Mason's Festival Pavilion.

SF Ballet

This month, you will find two different programs performed by the SF Ballet. The first is Coppelia and it runs from March 8 - 13. The second program includes both Dances at a Gathering and Swimmer. It runs from March 16 - 22. All performances are at the War Memorial Opera House.

Ocean Film Festival

Enjoy ocean themed films at this year's Ocean Film Festival. This annual event will be at the Cowell Theater in the Fort Mason Center. For four-full days, watch documentaries, narratives, shorts, and more about ocean related issues with social, environmental, and cultural significance.

Bay Area Brew Fest

Magic & Comedy at the Marrakech Magic Theater

Saint Patrick's Day Celebrations

This year, the large Saint Patrick's Day celebration will be on Saturday, March 12. This is the date for the annual Saint Paddy's Day Festival and Parade. In addition to this large celebration, you will also find many fun events this weekend and on the holiday itself, Thursday, March 17.

Luxe Bridal Show at the Omni Hotel

SF Symphony

The SF Symphony takes the stage for several shows this month at Davies Symphony Hall. Top performances this month include Rachmaninoff’s Paganini Rhapsody (March 10 - 13), Berlioz's Requiem (March 17 - 19), and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial: Feature Film with the SFS performing the score live (March 23 - 26).

Easter Weekend

This year, Easter falls on Sunday, March 27. You will find a number of activities that day as well as the Saturday before. Hike up to the top of Mount Davidson to enjoy the sunrise service, head out for some family friendly Easter egg hunts, and head over to the Marina for the annual Union Street Spring Celebration.

Comedy Shows in SF

In addition to ongoing quality improv and long-running satirical hits like Beach Blanket Babylon and Foodies, the Musical, the city proudly welcomes dozens of big-time and local comedians to the stage year-round. Check out Pete Davidson, Jeff Ross, Michael Yo, and many, many more this month.

Giants Exhibition Games

All month long, the SF Giants will be at Spring Training in Arizona, where you can catch single preseason games against the Brewers, Dodgers, Padres, and more. Finally, on the last day of March, the Giants will be home at AT&T Park and host an exhibition game against their Bay Area rival, the Oakland Athletics.
