SF Sketchfest

If you love comedy, then check out SF Sketchfest. This comedy festival lasts for two weeks and features dozens of local and internationally known artists. You will see everything from stand-up comedy to hilarious skits. Shows are at venues throughout the city, with several performances each day.

Free Museum Days

During the first two weeks in February, make sure to check out the free admission days for some of SF's top museums. On the first Sunday of the month, stop by the Asian Art Museum to take a look at their permanent collection for free. On the first Tuesday of the month, stop by the Conservatory of Flowers and stroll through their exhibits at no cost.

SF Film Festivals

In February, you will find three film festivals. They include the SF Indie Fest (February 5 - 19), the Mostly British Film Festival (February 12 - 19), and the Ocean Film Festival (February 27 - March 1). All three feature independent films on their topic.

SF Beer Week

One of the best beer events all year long is SF Beer Week. This 10-day event offers you the chance to check out local brews, talk to brew masters, and participate in dozens of other fun beer related events. In addition to the events in SF, you will also find a number of SF Beer Week festivities in the North, South, and East Bay areas.

San Francisco Tribal & Textile Art Show

Head over to the Fort Mason Center's Festival Pavilion for this year's Tribal and Textile Art Show. It features fine art from Asia, Africa, Oceania, and The Americas. Admission is $15 per person.

Wayne Brady at Feinstein's at the Nikko

Laugh all night long with Wayne Brady at Feinstein's. This popular comedian is well known for his hilarious work in TV's Whose Line Is It Anyway?. He's also made appearances on How I Met Your MotherChappelle's ShowThe Drew Carey ShowReno 911!, Stargate SG-1, and, of course, The Wayne Brady Show. He will perform 3 shows in February.

SF Giants Fan Fest

Join the 2014 World Series Champions, the SF Giants, at the 2015 Fan Fest celebration. This year's event is on Saturday, February 7. Meet some of the players, get autographs, and find your gear for this year's season. Buy single game tickets, get your picture taken with the World Series trophies, and more. All activities are at AT&T Park.

Neil deGrasse Tyson at the Orpheum Theater

Join Neil deGrasse Tyson on Tuesday, February 10 or Wednesday, February 11 for an evening of conversation about science, exploration, and the world around us. To start the evening, he will offer a 60 minute overview on these topics. He will then open it up for a Q&A session. No children under 5 allowed. The show starts at 7:30pm.

From Two Arises Three at the Asian Art Museum

Through the month of February, you can stop by the Asian Art Museum to see their special exhibit called From Two Arises Three. It's a collaborative exhibit with works from both Arnold Chang and Michael Cherney.

Valentine's Day 2015

Surprise your sweetie with an extra special Valentine's Day in San Francisco! San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

One of the biggest wine events every year is the SF Chronicle Wine Competition. This wine event focuses on American wines and includes the chance for you to sample wines from hundreds of US wineries. The 2015 Public Tasting Event is on Saturday, February 14 at the Fort Mason Center.

Chinese New Year

This year's Chinese New Year is on Thursday, February 19. You will find a month long celebration in SF's Chinatown. The celebrations start on February 14 & 15 with the annual Flower Market. You will also find the Miss Chinatown Pageant and the Basketball Jamboree in February. The large parade is in March.

Live Music

All month long, you can catch live music performances at several venues all over San Francisco. Highlights this month include Seether & Papa Roach at The Warfield on February 5, Tommy Emmanuel at The Palace of Fine Arts Theater on February 13 & 14, and ALO at The Fillmore on February 27 & 28.

San Francisco Theater: Newsies

One of the biggest theater productions this month is Newsies. This award-winning musical by Disney offers a high-energy performance and new music. It tells the story of a group of people that fight for what they believe in and take on some of the most powerful people in New York. In the end, they become an unlikely group of heros by fighting hard and staying true to themselves.

SF Salsa Rueda Festival

Head over to the Hotel Whitcomb for the 7th Annual San Francisco Salsa Rueda Festival. This festival has daytime workshops for everyone. Make sure to come out and have fun dancing to live bands each night. It is one of the biggest parties in San Francisco and goes all night long with people coming from all over the world to enjoy themselves!

SF Symphony

Head over to Davies Symphony Hall for this month's SF Symphony performances. Highlights this month include Peter Serkin playing Mozart, Brahm's A German Requiem, and MTT & Anne-Sophie Mutter. SF Ballet

Throughout February, you can also catch performances by the SF Ballet. The month starts off with Giselle, which runs through February 10. The season continues on February 24 with the start of Program 3. This performance includes The Vertinginous Thrill of Exactitude, Variations or Two Couples, Myles Thatcher World Premiere, and The Kingdom of the Shade from La Bayadere - Act II.

Noise Pop Festival

The 23rd annual Noise Pop Festival is February 20 - March 1. The event features independent films, art, and music. This year's headliners include Caribou, Dan Deacon, and Slow Magic. Shows are at venues all over San Francisco.
