Head over to Davies Symphony Hall to enjoy the sounds of the SF Symphony. During February 2014, you can catch more than a dozen performances including A Night at the Oscars - Film with the SF Symphony, Mahler's Third Symphony and Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony.
Spruce up your wardrobe at this amazing BCBG and Ella Moss Sample Sale. On Saturday, February 8 head to the Fort Mason Center along the SF waterfront and discover bargains at up to 70% off. The event starts at 10am, but I recommend getting there early as a line typically forms at least an hour in advance.

Let the SF Ballet entertain you this month with two stunning performances. From February 18 to March 1, 2014, you can catch their second program of the season: Val Caniparoli World Premiere, From Foreign Lands and Borderlands. In February, you also have the opportunity to see their third program of the season: Firebird, Ghosts & La Bayadere, Act II.

If you enjoy American wines, you will love the public tasting event at this year's SF Chronicle Wine Competition. In its 13th year, this is the largest American wine competition in the world. On Saturday, February 15 from 1:30pm to 5pm, you can sip and sample wine from as many entrants as possible.

One of the largest events each February is the Chinese New Year Parade and Celebration. The highlight of the event is the parade which is on Saturday, February 15, 2014. You can also enjoy several other events throughout the month of February including a community street fair, an annual concert given by the SF Symphony and a large flower market fair.

Another fun entertainment option in San Francisco this February is SF Beer Week. From February 7 - 16, you get the chance to sample a variety of craft beers while mingling with the locals. This year's kick off party is Friday, February 7 where you will get the chance to sample dozens of beers. For the next 10 days, you can then to hop from bar to bar sampling beer at your own pace.

February is a great month to head in doors and check out some of the great museums exhibits on display. At the Conservatory of Flowers, you get the chance to see one of my personal favorites: Butterflies and Blossoms. The Georgia O'Keefe and Lake George exhibit entitled Modern Nature opens at the de Young Fine Arts Museum on February 15. Matisse, pieces from the SF MOMA are also on display all month long at the Legion of Honor.

SF Sketchfest is one of the largest comedy festivals in the world. For two weeks, you get the chance to see everything from internationally recognized comedians to locals just getting started. It also includes hilarious skits and group performances that will keep you laughing all night long.

The largest orchid show is at San Francisco's Fort Mason Center every February. This year it is from Friday, February 21 to Sunday, February 23. Stop by to see more than 150,000 orchids in bloom and to learn more about these amazing plants at their educational seminars. Admission is around $13 per person.
The San Francisco Independent Film Festival is on February 6 - 20, 2014. In its 16th year, this large festival showcases the best independent, alternative and subversive movies from the US and beyond. Performance are at venues throughout SF.

Noise Pop is an annual indie music, arts and film festival in San Francisco. This year marks the 22nd year for this festival. This year's headliners include Dr. Dog, Real Estate and Mark Kozelek. Throughout the festival, you can also see independent films at both the Roxie Theater and the New People Cinema. This year's event runs from February 25 - March 2.
If you love tulips, then head over to Pier 39 for this year's Tulipmania. From February 15 to February 23, take a look at thousands of brilliantly colored tulips all around the pier. You can also join the free, guided tour each day during this event at 10am starting at Pier 39's Entrance Plaza.
